SYNECO Project  

SYNECO works for improving the environment, including reducing impacts on air and water, improving soil quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project also trains farmers to use a smart app for managing their farms with respect to fertilisation and crop production and includes knowledge on the soils of their fields using AI-interpreted satellite data. Furthermore, SYNECO employs innovative technologies to process livestock slurry into useable products rather than continuing to treat this slurry at the urban wastewater treatment facilities in a costly and completely unacceptable process. The project prioritises gender equality and employment of young people, whenever possible.

Joining ESPP gives SYNECO the possibility to follow and participate more closely in the ongoing dialogue about technological innovations and policies for maximizing nutrient recycling in line with EU policies. We find it important for the sustainability of our project results, that SYNECO’s concept for manure processing takes advantage of results and conclusions of other European initiatives. We see ESPP as a forum, which also offers opportunities for dissemination of our project results.
